Why see a physiotherapist?

Today is World Physiotherapy Day – a global event recognising the incredible role physiotherapists play in our community. At Next Wave we are celebrating the contribution our physiotherapists, Jonathan Wray and Stephanie Lock, play in helping our community to move, think and feel alive.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists are health professional who have a key role in helping people achieve their goals and fulfil their potential. Physiotherapists work in a variety of settings from treating musculoskeletal complaints to neurological rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation and working with paediatric conditions. Usually after graduating a physiotherapist will start to specialise in a particular area but they will still bring their knowledge of the other disciplines with them making them a highly affective health care professional.
